Synthetic Turf Resources
Over 40 Years of Manufacturing
Synthetic Turf Resources is a USA based synthetic turf manufacturer located in Dalton, Georgia. The STR story began over four decades ago and continues today with over 240 employees. We’re proud to have been involved in synthetic turf from the beginning.
Synthetic Turf Gets an Upgrade
The first generation of synthetic turf began as tightly curled nylon fiber woven into a foam backing. It worked, but was far from optimal. In the 1970s a second generation of artificial turf emerged, called “shag turf.” The new yarns were made of polypropylene and were less abrasive than the first generation turf. It also looked closer to real grass. Although this turf was acceptable for sports like field hockey, it was less suitable for sports like soccer because the ball behavior on the turf did not match the capabilities of natural grass.

The STR Difference
The demand for synthetic turf is higher than ever before. Because of the innovations, the public is ready to use it in their yards, and schools and teams are ready for a long-lasting and low maintenance solution to grass. With the surge in demand comes a surge in suppliers. It’s important to know that not all synthetic turf is made equally. At first glance a novice wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
The flaws in poorly made turf can reveal themselves in a matter of weeks.
At the end of the day synthetic turf is a manufactured product. The satisfaction of users will depend on the quality of the manufacturing. Because STR is a vertically integrated synthetic turf manufacturer that has invested decades of R&D, we can guarantee the highest quality synthetic turf at affordable rates. The success of your synthetic turf business depends on quality turf and seamless customer service – STR provides both.
