The science behind the turf

Understanding Light Damage

Reflective light from windows, stainless steel objects, curved glass, white vinyl fencing, and other reflective surfaces can significantly increase the temperature of turf, potentially leading to melting or damage.

Planning and Prevention
When installing turf near reflective surfaces, plan carefully. Consider using nylon turf in high-reflection areas to mitigate potential damage.

R

Identify Potential Sources: During installation, identify potential sources of reflective light.

R

Proactive Solutions: Suggest moving reflective objects, using window films, or buffing reflective surfaces to reduce their impact.

R

Education: Ensure customers are aware of the potential for reflective light damage and how to mitigate it.

The compounds behind the turf

Understanding the Language

Polyethylene
A tough, light, flexible synthetic resin made by polymerizing ethylene, chiefly used for plastic bags, food containers, and other packaging.

Polypropylene
A synthetic resin that is a polymer of propylene, used especially for ropes, fabrics, and molded objects. (Adds durability)

Nylon
A tough, lightweight, elastic synthetic polymer with a protein-like chemical structure, able to be produced as filaments, sheets, or molded objects.
